Job Title: Supervisor<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Location: New Holland, North Lincolnshire<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Salary: tbc<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hours: 42.50 per week with flexible working hours between<\/p>\n\n\n\n

06:00am and 22:00<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Purpose of the role:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To manage their team to ensure all port operations are delivered safely,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

efficiently and within the expected time frame. Supervisors &<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chargehands will assist and support their respective Managers in the<\/p>\n\n\n\n

current and ongoing development of the terminal and all personnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Candidates must have a flexible attitude to working times, be prepared to<\/p>\n\n\n\n

be hands on, a team player and capable of leading by example. As you<\/p>\n\n\n\n

will be the only member of the management team on site at certain times,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

you will be expected to undertake the following duties and be responsible<\/p>\n\n\n\n

for making certain decisions that may include but not limited to the<\/p>\n\n\n\n

following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Responsible for the safe, efficient and effective day to day<\/p>\n\n\n\n

supervision of terminal operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Ensure the Company complies at all times with the law and with all<\/p>\n\n\n\n

resolutions, regulations and directives made or given by the<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Company. This specifically includes but not limited to Health &<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Ensure all personnel under your control undertake their duties in<\/p>\n\n\n\n

line with company policies\/procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 To accurately plan the allocation of equipment, labour and all other<\/p>\n\n\n\n

resources under your control prior to any operation being<\/p>\n\n\n\n

undertaken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Time management – Ensure all staff abide and adhere to the<\/p>\n\n\n\n

clocking system and only take allotted times for breaks and rest<\/p>\n\n\n\n

periods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 In conjunction with your line Manager control and minimise<\/p>\n\n\n\n

operating expenditures, increasing business efficiency and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Monitor waste management and ensure site housekeeping<\/p>\n\n\n\n

standards are maintained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Deliver toolbox \/ team talks on a regular basis maintaining a safe<\/p>\n\n\n\n

working environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 As and required operate plant & equipment to support the needs of<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the business and assist others to achieve their daily targets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Ensure all administration tasks are carried out in line with company<\/p>\n\n\n\n

policies\/procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Investigate any incident, accident or non-conformance, responsible<\/p>\n\n\n\n

for the implementation of any correct actions in a timely manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Manage the performance, productivity and behaviour of all staff<\/p>\n\n\n\n

under your supervision in line with agreed KPl’s and customer<\/p>\n\n\n\n

expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

undertake any other duties as and when required by Management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 PC Literate \u2014 Good understanding of Microsoft packages,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

particularly Excel & Word\u2022 Previous Health, Safety and Environmental experience in Terminal<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operations preferable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Professional qualification in Health Safety & Environment –<\/p>\n\n\n\n

desirable<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Experience of, Stevedoring, handling of timber and other<\/p>\n\n\n\n

commodities, previous knowledge of Timber Treatment Plant a<\/p>\n\n\n\n

distinct advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Previous experience of operating a wide range of mechanical plant<\/p>\n\n\n\n

& equipment preferable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Able to communicate at all levels with customers, employees and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

service providers to ensure a coordinated operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
