06:00am and 22:00

Purpose of the role:
To manage their team to ensure all port operations are delivered safely,
efficiently and within the expected time frame. Supervisors &
Chargehands will assist and support their respective Managers in the
current and ongoing development of the terminal and all personnel.
Candidates must have a flexible attitude to working times, be prepared to
be hands on, a team player and capable of leading by example. As you
will be the only member of the management team on site at certain times,
you will be expected to undertake the following duties and be responsible
for making certain decisions that may include but not limited to the
following:
• Responsible for the safe, efficient and effective day to day
supervision of terminal operations.
• Ensure the Company complies at all times with the law and with all
resolutions, regulations and directives made or given by the
Company. This specifically includes but not limited to Health &
Safety.
• Ensure all personnel under your control undertake their duties in
line with company policies/procedures.
• To accurately plan the allocation of equipment, labour and all other
resources under your control prior to any operation being
undertaken.
• Time management – Ensure all staff abide and adhere to the
clocking system and only take allotted times for breaks and rest
periods.
• In conjunction with your line Manager control and minimise
operating expenditures, increasing business efficiency and
productivity.
• Monitor waste management and ensure site housekeeping
standards are maintained.
• Deliver toolbox / team talks on a regular basis maintaining a safe
working environment.
• As and required operate plant & equipment to support the needs of
the business and assist others to achieve their daily targets.
• Ensure all administration tasks are carried out in line with company
policies/procedures.
• Investigate any incident, accident or non-conformance, responsible
for the implementation of any correct actions in a timely manner.
• Manage the performance, productivity and behaviour of all staff
under your supervision in line with agreed KPl’s and customer
expectations.

undertake any other duties as and when required by Management.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• PC Literate — Good understanding of Microsoft packages,
particularly Excel & Word• Previous Health, Safety and Environmental experience in Terminal
Operations preferable.
• Professional qualification in Health Safety & Environment –
desirable
• Experience of, Stevedoring, handling of timber and other
commodities, previous knowledge of Timber Treatment Plant a
distinct advantage.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Previous experience of operating a wide range of mechanical plant
& equipment preferable.
• Able to communicate at all levels with customers, employees and
service providers to ensure a coordinated operation.
